Check inode usage of filesystems

user@server
df -ih -x tmpfs -x devtmpfs -x squashfs

Every file uses one inode, and on ext4 their number is fixed when the filesystem is created. When IUse% reaches 100 percent, no new files can be created, even if gigabytes are still free. Typical causes are millions of small files, such as PHP sessions, cache files or a full mail queue.

Note: XFS and Btrfs allocate inodes dynamically, so the problem is rare there.
