Set all directories to 755 recursively

Caution: This command changes the system. Understand what it does before you run it.

Adjust the values, the command updates live
user@server
find /var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpdocs -type d -exec chmod 755 {} +

Changes only directories, not files, to 755: the owner can do everything, group and others can read and enter. This is the usual target state for web projects, for example after an FTP upload with wrong permissions. -exec ... {} + passes many paths at once and is therefore fast.

Note: Intentionally stricter permissions (such as 750 for private folders) are overwritten. The counterpart for files: -type f with 644.
