Create or repoint a symbolic link

Caution: This command changes the system. Understand what it does before you run it.

Adjust the values, the command updates live

ln -sfn -- /var/www/vhosts/example.com/releases/2026-10-10 /var/www/vhosts/example.com/current

Creates LINK as a symbolic link to ZIEL. -f replaces an existing link, -n makes sure a link to a directory is replaced instead of a new link being created inside it. This switches something like current to a new release in one step.

Note: -f also replaces a regular file named LINK. Check what is there with ls -l first.
