Delete files older than X days

Adjust the values, the command updates live
user@server
find /var/backups/example.com -type f -name '*.tar.gz' -mtime +30 -print -delete

Deletes all files in the path and its subdirectories that match the pattern and were last modified more than the given number of days ago. -print lists every deleted file. Also works as a cron job for simple backup rotation.

Note: Run the same command without -delete first and check the list. A wrong path or an overly broad pattern deletes files irreversibly.
