git log --oneline --graph --decorate --all -n 30

Prints one line per commit with short hash and subject and draws branches and merges as an ASCII graph on the left. --all includes other local and remote branches, and --decorate shows where branches and tags point. Useful for getting a quick overview of a deployment’s state on a server.

Note: Remote branches are only as current as the last git fetch.
