Align output as a table with column

Adjust the values, the command updates live
user@server
column -t -s ':' /etc/passwd

Determines the width of each column and pads with spaces to produce a readable table. -s sets the delimiter, without it column splits on whitespace. Also works in pipes, for example mount | column -t.

Note: On Debian and Ubuntu, column comes from the bsdextrautils package. Empty fields between two delimiters are merged, with -n they are kept as separate columns.
