Reset file ownership in a Plesk webspace to the subscription user

Caution: This command changes the system. Understand what it does before you run it.

Adjust the values, the command updates live
root@server
find /var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpdocs -mindepth 1 -exec chown -h webuser:psacln {} +

Changes the ownership of all files and subfolders in the document root to the subscription’s system user and the group psacln. The httpdocs folder itself stays unchanged thanks to -mindepth 1, because Plesk assigns it a different group. Needed when files were created as root and PHP can no longer write to them.

Note: Plesk shows the system user in the subscription’s hosting settings, alternatively run stat -c %U on the document root.

Open question before approval: Prüfen, ob der Dokumentstamm selbst in Plesk Obsidian weiterhin Benutzer:psaserv gehört und der Inhalt Benutzer:psacln. Alternative plesk repair fs: genaue Syntax noch verifizieren.
