Check the SMART health status of a disk

Adjust the values, the command updates live

smartctl -H /dev/sda

Shows the overall verdict of the drive’s self-assessment: PASSED means no threshold has been exceeded, FAILED means the drive itself expects to fail soon. lsblk lists the device names.

Note: PASSED is no guarantee; the individual values from smartctl -A are more meaningful. Behind hardware RAID controllers, the -d option is required, for example -d megaraid,0. Package: apt install smartmontools.
