Show BIOS or UEFI version and date

root@server
dmidecode -s bios-vendor && dmidecode -s bios-version && dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Reads the vendor, version number and release date of the firmware. This lets you compare against the vendor’s download page while the system is running to see whether an update is available, for example because of security vulnerabilities or stability issues.

Note: If the command is missing: apt install dmidecode.
